you can look at any online pet store and see all of the things people will buy for their dogs. jewelry, clothing, furniture, bakery goods – whatever you can think of. i’m guilty of making a number of these friviolous purchases myself. right now i have a birthday cake in the kitchen for ivan’s 10th birthday party in 3 days. he has a bear rug bed, more stuffed animals than many children and he had skirt steak for dinner tonight – but i try not to embarrass him by making him wear special outfits, except when it’s really cold or on halloween.
mostly it’s the people with little dogs that like to accessorize and dress up their dogs and it’s great entertainment for pedestrians – but today was the best . . . on york and 75th a town car pulled over and parked. a chauffeur emerged from the car, walked around to the back passenger side door, opened it and pulled out a set of steps. out came a prince charles spaniel.
