the diaper bomber!

sometimes i want to work for the ny post just to know the writers –  that would have to be a fun job . . .

What is she, the diaper bomber?

“This adorable, chubby-cheeked New Jersey tot was pulled from a JetBlue flight because her name popped up on the federal no-fly list — normally intended for al Qaeda thugs and other terror suspects. The parents of 18-month-old Riyanna, who are of Middle Eastern descent but were born in the United States, said they were humiliated at the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., airport when they were told to get off the Newark-bound plane so TSA agents could chat with them about their curly-haired cutie.”  article

“Riyanna is a JetBlue frequent flier.”

CLARK, NJ – Claire Cagnassola ♥ led the Oak Knoll Rams with four goals including what proved to be the game winner with 3:14 left in the second half

Cagnassola  was able to tie the game at ten apiece when the offense held possession for a few minutes before she found an open lane, drove and buried the ball into the back of the cage. . .

That stop led to an Oak Knoll clear and from there  Cagnassola ♥ would take care of the rest.  Again with her squad maintaining some quality possession in the offensive zone, Kent Place was eventually called for a loose ball penalty, thus awarding her a free try.

Cagnassola  calmly stepped into the left slot and rifled a low shot in to give Oak Knoll the lead for good at 11-10.

“I have a lot of trouble with free position shots… so I got really nervous,”
Cagnassola  said after the game.  “I’ve been working on them a lot lately and I just thought where to place it.  I usually bounce it in between the goalies legs and that’s kind of what I did,” she added.

one day in the not too far future, when she is world famous, i will  be able to say i knew her when . . .

conversation with elvis

while walking through times square i spotted elvis in a coffee shop. he was just sitting at the counter by the window not drinking coffee.  after i walked by the window,  i realized this photo op is too good to pass up and so i turned around and went in.  here’s elvis:

and this was our conversation:

me: “hi, elvis”

elvis: “hi”

me: “can i take your picture?”

elvis: “sure”

(i seize photo op)

me: “do you work around here?”

elvis: “yes,  i’m working now”

me: “oh . . .  really?”

elvis: “yes.  i work for tips”

my love

i love warren buffet. i know that because every single thing he says or does makes me happy.  here he is at his annual shareholders meeting this year.  bill gates watches warren as he attempts to win the paper toss contest by relying on muscle memory from his days as a paper boy while the other kids his age were still sharpening their walking skills . . .  warren has generously offered this year’s winner of the paper toss contest a free dilly bar from dairy queen. 🙂

warren owns dairy queen.

good to know

just in case you don’t get the time to read today’s ny post, i will fill you in on all the important stuff so that you don’t have to feel like you don’t know what’s going on . . .

first, john edwards.  the 2x presidential candidate who used campaign contributions to keep his baby mama quiet while his wife was dying of cancer is back on the front page.  that’s not news.  the news is, according to the post, that $750,000 of the money he used to support his baby mama came from 101 year old heiress, rachel mellon who, according to her interior decorator, was madly in love with john.  not sure how she feels about him now but i will continue checking the post for details and be sure to pass along.

my favorite current drama is the 44 year old woman who has been accused of taking her 5 year old daughter into a tanning booth.  i don’t know if that’s really the case or not, but the fact remains, this woman is 44 years old!

the post reports patricia krentcil stated, “she’s an excellent mother and the victim of “fat and ugly” critics who are “jealous’’ of her beautiful bronzed body.”

and for more important news, be very careful when walking today.  apparently, “Roving gangs of thieves are stealing manhole covers from the streets of Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx — prying up the 320-pound, cast-iron lids and hauling them off to scrap yards. . . Stealing them creates a hazard to motorists and pedestrians.”
