it’s 91 degrees and 1,000% humidity above ground, and i’m about to leave my air conditioned apartment and take the subway downtown. i’m a little scared, although i have not heard of any subway / heat related deaths so far today and it’s already 1:15. should i fail to return, i leave you with this; my favorite photo:
wish me luck.

Yeah my wife and I broke down and hooked up our window a/c today! This is off topic but I was curious if you could give some insight about living in NYC? Recently I recieved a job offer in kingsbridge Bronx and have started looking for apartments that are safe, easy commute to work and small cafes and shops. I have been checking, Harlem, queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, fort lee but am just as lost as before I began so I was curious if you could recommend something or direction! My wife are okay with studio but don’t want to pay over 1400$ a month. Thanks again for your time,
Dave

My A/C ran all day and all evening. I went to bed. Then I woke up out of a sound sleep because I heard NOTHING. The A/C stopped. I checked the thermostat and the circuit breaker. All was OK. The A/C stopped because it was not needed. Now I know that I really do have some sort of compulsive disorder.

My husband and son have probably just landed at Lagardia from dry but hot Colorado. Don’t envy them or you. So happy I no longer fear fainting on the subway platforms. Stay strong.
