friends in the country

i’ve been on my country hiatus for 4 days now and i’ve only seen 6 or 7 people, but i have managed to make some new friends.  the folks up here have much less to say than city peeps, and when they do speak, it’s hard to understand what they’re really saying.  luckily i have ivan with me to translate.  meet the new crew:

  3. I bet you could have a great conversation:
“If we could talk to the animals, just imagine it
Chatting to a chimp in chimpanzee
Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting to a cheetah
What a neat achievement that would be.

If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages
    Maybe take an animal degree.
We’d study elephant and eagle, buffalo and beagle,
    Alligator, guinea pig, and flea.

We would converse in polar bear and python,
And we could curse in fluent kangaroo.
If people asked us, can you speak in rhinoceros,
We’d say, “Of courserous, can’t you?”

If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages
Think of all the things we could discuss
If we could walk with the animals, talk with the animals,
Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals,
And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to us.”

    • that happens to be one of my all time favorite songs! – followed only by:
Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I’d rather stay.
      I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

      …The chores.
      …The stores.
      …Fresh air.
      …Times Square

      You are my wife.
      Good bye, city life.
      Green Acres we are there.

      🙂 🙂 🙂
