“Let’s go and see everybody,” said Pooh. “Because when you’ve been walking in the wind for miles, and you suddenly go into somebody’s house, and he says, ‘Hallo, Pooh, you’re just in time for a little smackerel of something,’ and you are, then it’s what I call a Friendly Day.”Piglet thought that they ought to have a Reason for going to see everybody, like Looking for Small or Organizing and Expotition, if Pooh could think of something.Pooh could.“We’ll go because it’s Thursday,” he said, “and we’ll go to wish everybody a Very Happy Thursday. Come on, Piglet.”

“You’d be surprised how many people violate this simple principle every day of their lives and try to fit square pegs into round holes, ignoring the clear reality that Things Are As They Are.”

A common misconception: square pegs are supposed to be driven into round holes (see Mortise & Tenon construction). As you drive the square peg, the four corners are peeled back, and you are left with a custom-fit peg that snugs the hole perfectly. Imagine the time and effort that would be required (in 1850) to machine a peg that’s a exactly the size needed!
