our job is not to change people. they are just being who they are, on their own path, learning their own stuff.  our job is to be in charge of our reaction to who they are being.

it’s usually not helpful to believe your thoughts.

everyone lies. the hard part is accepting this fact. equally as hard is never telling a lie.

being happy is better than being right.

watching the daily news is not usually helpful and generally adds no happiness to our lives.

even people who are afraid of dogs, are not usually afraid of golden retrievers.

we all die alone – it’s an experience that can’t be shared.

your outer world is a reflection of your inner world in every way.

we become what we think about the most – when it is accompanied by strong feelings or beliefs.

everything happens for a reason even if you don’t find out what that is for a very long time.

we all lie and every lie we tell oursleves is based on fear.

you will always make a better decision if you 1st  pause and ask “what would a wise person do?” then listen for the answer.

help is not always available from outside ourselves.

don miquel ruiz offers powerful advice for everyone:  be impeccable with your word, take nothing personally, don’t make assumptions and always do your best.  the four agreements should be required reading in every school!
