why the ny post is important

i often tell myself that the news is simply a waste of time, but then something happens and i just can’t help taking a peek at the front page of the ny post. here are some of today’s important events:

ny post exclusive

A Port Authority security contractor whose job is to look out for possible suicides and terror attacks on the George Washington Bridge was busted for smoking weed on the job this afternoon, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

A PAPD cop on patrol noticed an overpowering smell of weed when he popped in on the guard at the south tower security booth around 1:45 p.m.

When he asked the guard about the stench, Sami Omar, 26, of North Bergen, he initially denied it, then said “I think it’s a passing skunk,” a source said.

and you’ll also want to know about this:

A Michigan medical marijuana facility is partnering with a member of the Grammy-winning rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to cultivate and distribute a new strain of medical marijuana.

The Green Oasis and Stanley “Flesh-N-Bone” Howse have agreed to work together on “Phifty Caliber Kush,” which they say has a noticeable floral taste and is an effective pain reliever.

The Flint-area dispensary’s owner, Anthony Butler, calls the new pot strain “the best of the best.”

and finally, here’s some completely unrelated but also important news:

The corrections officer impregnated behind bars by convicted cop killer Ronell Wilson was excused from a court date this morning because she is having contractions, her lawyer said.

Nancy Gonzalez, 29, of Huntington Station, is hours away from giving birth to a boy and is awaiting transfer to a local hospital, her attorney Anthony Ricco told the court.

Gonzalez said she agreed to carry Wilson’s child to give the killer something to look forward to in his life despite facing life in prison.

fun times

it’s been a long time since i’ve truly had any fun. i’ve been blaming it on my financial situation, among some other things going on in my life over the last couple of years  . . .  but then i got this e-mail today and i realized that it has all been my own doing.   i wasted all this time when i could have been whooping it up as good as the rest of them!  here is the e-mail:

i feel like i’ve been away forever.  between the move, the short trip to baltimore, 14 days with no internet – running around the city in search of hot spots & catching up with all my friends, i’m finally getting to the place of believing i’m actually back in town.

i did figure out how to fit all my stuff from the 1100 sq. ft. apartment into a studio.  i gave away most of my possessions.

on the day of my move i assembled the courage to step on the scale.  i gained 17 pounds.  i knew it was going to be hideous – but seeing that was disturbing to say the least.  the scale remains in the trunk of my car.  my new weight measurement system does not require a scale.  instead, i have counted the number of jeans i own that fit me prior to my nj nightmare – 23.  that includes the 2 pair i was forced to buy after the first 10 pounds.   therefore, upon arrival, i had 2 pair of jeans that fit – even if just barely.  today i have  5 pair to choose from.  progress is good.  the plan is to be at at least 20 by the end of may.

the glovers had a baby girl last weekend and named her natalie marie.  i would show you a picture but they have yet to send one . . .  while lauren labored at lenox hill, i thought it would be a good idea to take mia on a road trip to get away from it all.  plus i was really missing mighty man and had promised him i would be out to visit as soon as i got settled.  a good time for us – not so much for lauren.

mighty & mia

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

how does this work??

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates….
1/1/11,     1/11/11,     11/1/11,     11/11/11
Now go figure this out . . . .
take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year and it will equal . . . .  111
